What the app does
Ombra helps people explore tattoo directions before speaking with a tattoo artist. The current app has three guided flows:
- Personalized: an AI tattoo design built from your idea, style, color, placement and size.
- Cover-up: a new design concept for a tattoo you already have. Add an optional photo of the old tattoo to see the concept rendered over it.
- Zodiac: a design built around a zodiac sign.
It also has an inspiration gallery, and you can save designs to the in-app library or to your photos. The app does not place arbitrary designs on bare skin. Ombra creates planning concepts; it does not perform tattoo services.
Who makes it
Ombra is built by the Ombra team. On the App Store it is published under the developer name NIL AMBER UGUR; on Google Play it is the package app.we.are.OmbraTattoo. This website, the iPhone app and the Android app are the same product.
Store names by storefront
Store titles are written for each storefront's search terms, so the same app appears under different names. On your phone it is called Ombra. Titles checked 2026-10-05.

Pricing
Ombra is free to download. Each design uses one credit. Credits come with weekly or yearly plans that renew credits, or as extra credit packs bought in the app. Prices are shown in the app and vary by storefront.
What an AI preview can and cannot tell you
A preview can help you compare styles, scale, placement and density, and, for a cover-up, see a new concept over a photo of the old tattoo. It cannot show the healed result, how the tattoo ages, how it renders on your skin tone, or whether a design will fully cover old ink. A tattoo artist confirms what is possible.

The app's privacy policy explains what the app collects and how it is used. This website has its own privacy page.
Not a tattoo studio
Ombra Tattoo is an app. It is not a tattoo studio and is not affiliated with tattoo studios that use a similar name, such as studios called “Ombra Tattoo” in Italy or Spain.
